11th Annual Spelling Bee

image

WOW! What a night. Once again, our community has shown such strong support of local education! Thirty teams of three—each sponsored by one or more local businesses—came up with inventive names and costumes (and sometimes spellings!) to entertain an appreciative audience. We thank the spellers, sponsors, judges, musicians, and our wonderful Spellmaster and Master of Ceremonies! And we thank the many businesses for donating pumpkins, donuts, and such great raffle items—and all the folks who purchased raffle tickets!

Thank you one and all for the many ways you support this ever-popular event! See pictures on our Facebook page and watch part of the festivities:

Save the date for our fun, crazy, annual Spelling Bee:
Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 6:30 pm!

This is THE major fundraiser for the Mary Lyon Foundation’s Mini-Grant program, approximately matched by funds from the United Way and an anonymous donor. A major factor in the United Way’s decision to fund this important program is our ability to match their funds through the annual Spelling Bee. Please help us make our match by joining the fun! Support the teams by attending this favorite community event, and check out the amazing raffle and silent auction items generously donated by many local businesses. Thank you one and all!

We could still use a sponsor and team or two more; as well as additional raffle and silent auction items. Please call the office at 413-625-2555 or email us at marylyonfoundation@gmail.com if you’d like to help!
