Americorps Program

Are you interested in a different kind of professional experience that offers meaningful ways to connect, grow, and contribute? Are you passionate about youth empowerment and creative learning?

DIAL/SELF Members can:

  • Develop skills working with youth, nonprofits, and schools
  • Build relationships and community through weekly development workshops and collaborative service projects
  • Pay for college using the $6,495 Education Award.
  • Earn a $17,000 stipend
  • Receive free health care and child care.

For 10 months, DIAL/SELF AmeriCorps members create positive youth development opportunities in schools and local agencies throughout Western Massachusetts. They build relationships with young people and support them in developing skills, connection, and confidence in themselves as learners. They experience personal and professional growth through on-site service, workshops, and team service project activities.

 

Open Site Opportunities

Mohawk Trail
provide program support and mentorship to students in grades 7-12 by preparing resources, delivering groceries, and assisting with academic, college, career, and leadership activities.

Rise Prep Academy Springfield
support the development of a restorative justice program through increasing youth leadership initiatives, social-emotional learning opportunities, and restorative culture education.

Montague Catholic Social Ministries
works to strengthen, encourage, and support people in the community through outreach, family education, positive conflict resolution, leadership development and group empowerment.

Upward Bound at Commerce
support high school students' college readiness through tutoring & mentoring, college & financial aid applications, and future planning.
