Spelling Bee winnersCommunity Spelling Bee
For 14 years, our community has gathered together on an autumn evening in an impressive and  hilariously funny show of support for local education! This past year, thirty teams of three—each sponsored by one or more local businesses—once again came up with inventive names and costumes to entertain an appreciative audience and raise money for local education. We thank the intrepid spellers, sponsors, judges, musicians, our wonderful Spellmaster and Master of Ceremonies, the businesses who donate refreshments and great raffle items—and members of the community who cheer the spellers on and purchase raffle tickets!

Thank you one and all for the many ways you support this ever-popular event!

Typically held in the Spring, the Mary Lyon Foundation’s Lyonnaise is an event that celebrates excellence in local education and honors people for their outstanding service and dedication. Awards include the Pat Kerrins Carreer Award, Mohawk Trail Regional School Outstanding Alumni Award, Spirit of Adventure Award, and George Needham Business Award. The 2019 Lyonnaise launched our new Guardian Angel Fund, created by an anonymous donor to help children and families who find themselves in difficult circumstances.

Please consider including the Mary Lyon Foundation in your estate plans.
