Mary Lyon Foundation Updates

Letter from the Executive Director: Spring 2023

Spring has sprung, and it’s time to celebrate the tireless work of our Volunteers!  April is National Volunteer Month, and the Mary Lyon Foundation is exceptionally grateful for the service of our volunteers. Their impact is immeasurable.

The Mary Lyon Foundation has eleven volunteers who assist us with our grocery delivery program through Hilltown Church’s Food Pantry.  Twice a month, the Volunteer Crew packs two thousand pounds of food for those in need to battle food scarcity around our community. The goodwill at Hilltown Church’s Food Pantry gives the Mary Lyon Foundation the resources needed to help meet our families’ basic needs.

Our eleven volunteers drive in various weather conditions to ensure our families receive groceries delivered with care.  This program is only possible because of the dedication of our volunteers and the food pantry.

We are fortunate to have twelve selfless board members who serve as fiduciaries and set the strategic direction and inspiration for a sustainable future for the Foundation. I am deeply grateful for their commitment to the vision and mission of our organization and their partnership.

Volunteering at the Mary Lyon Foundation is a great way to give back to our community, and the opportunities go beyond delivering groceries and board membership.  We are fortunate to have volunteers that support us in many ways, such as in our office and with event planning, just to name a few!

Are you interested in giving back to our community?  Reach out to us today to see how you can get involved.

In the words of Booker T. Washington, “Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others.”

Thank you to all our volunteers for making West County a better place. We appreciate you!
